The Annual FSP Christmas Craft Fair 2011 is Coming!
The Christmas Craft Fair is an annual favorite of FSP Member students and parents alike, where we experience holiday fun together! Students are given an opportunity to make multiple grade-appropriate holiday crafts, while the parent coordinates and administrates only one.

NEW THIS YEAR ~ Eligible students include ANY child of an FSP member!
Better yet – You are not alone in providing and funding a craft. You can partner with another parent to split the cost and effort at the same time. If you can’t find a partner, no problem! We’ll find one for you.
It gets even better – Moms with children in the younger grades need not worry about your youngsters. All the crafting tables are clustered together according to grades, so the space your children will be navigating is quite small and contained. Additionally, the moms at the younger children’s tables will make sure that each child gets from table-to-table with ease!
And what is a crafting event without snacks? For kids who are done crafting, we have moms on hand with a Christmas video and snacks set up in another room, where they can relax and wait for the event to end.
Here is a chronological checklist to help you from now until the morning of crafting fun on December 10th:
Starting now!
- Find a crafting partner. If you do not have one, no problem. There will be an opportunity to indicate that you need a partner when you register… That’s coming up later on the checklist!
- Decide which grade level of students you would like to craft with at the fair. You will need to do this, even if you don’t have a partner assigned yet.
- Determine a craft you desire to have the students make for the grade level you’ve chosen *hint: take a minute to look through the craft links provided… There are tons of ideas to choose from!
- Shop now! Did you know your MACHE card will enable you to get 15% off at Michael’s everyday? They’ve got Christmas supplies out now!
- Save your receipts. And consider buying items that will not break your bank. The amount you spend per craft is entirely up to you ~ we encourage you to find creative ways to gather materials ~ use Freecycle, shop sales, and recycle.
- Feel free to post on the FSP Yahoo User’s group too, to discuss ideas, look for supplies, find a partner and share craft sites.

Register! Online registration opens Oct. 1st and closes Nov. 15th!
- Please read the registration information carefully.
- Register all your children online as well as your craft information (grade level and craft idea).
- If you don’t have a crafting partner yet, but will have one, simply type in “Need a partner” in the field provided on the form.
- If you don’t have a partner, and would like to be assigned one, please type in “Assign a partner.”
- All families must register one craft-supplying adult or older teen (approval required).
Before December 10th
- After registration closes, you will receive an email identifying the number of students registered for your craft’s grade level. After you have this number, gather all the necessary supplies for each student to complete your creative craft.
- Please plan to supply crafts for at least 5 extra children! We ALWAYS have last minute adjustments and we’d hate to leave any children out!
- Gather all necessary equipment and supplies for your table – extension cords, craft items, and don’t forget a TABLE COVER.
December 10th… Crafting Day!
- Have each crafting child come with a paper bag to collect crafts in. Make sure their name is on the outside of the bag.
- Come to the Craft Fair ready for holiday cheer! The fair starts promptly at 9am so come early enough to set up your table, and be ready to receive children at your table by 9am sharp!
- Check in at the desk in the lobby to pick up name tags for you and your children. Don’t forget to get your cookie tickets here!
- Cover your table with something to make clean up easy.
- We’ll let everyone know when snacks are available. At that time, kids can get a snack, enjoy a video, and then come back for more crafting. No need to stay in the snack room the rest of the event this time!
- YOU are responsible to clean up your area of all little pieces, glitter, scraps, etc. at noon. Feel free to enlist help ~ but this is a grass-roots event, so we do our own clean-up.
- Don’t forget to bring your children’s hard-worked crafts!
- You are certain to leave in a festive mood after having experienced the holiday spirit crafting with eager children!
