Parents may find it difficult to continue with certain subject as students hit riggers of high school. MCI supplements homeschool education by providing instruction in high school level subjects, offered twice a week at the Covenant Life Church building.

DRIVER’S ED & LICENSING

The MVA now requires high school students aged 15, who are taking Driver’s Ed, to have a form signed by the FSP Administrator, indicating the student has had less than ten (10) days ‘worth of absences from their “home school.” The parents should fill out the top portion of this form; the FSP Administrator fills out the bottom portion, signs and affixes the CLS seal at the bottom of the form. The seal also needs to be affixed to the back seal of the envelope. These forms are available at the FSP office.

HSC Program/transcripts/diploma

The HSC program provides home schooling families of high school students with an additional level of accountability and guidance. There is an additional fee for each HSC student.

Transcripts: FSP will produce official transcripts for a student when needed for college, employment, etc. When a transcript is needed, please complete a blue Transcript Request form, and return it to the FSP office.

Diplomas: All students in the FSP HSC program will be awarded either an Academic or a General diploma (see Credit Requirements section). The end of year review should take place no later than two weeks prior to graduation.

Spelling Bee

The FSP Spelling Bee can serve as a major part of your child’s Spelling Curriculum. In the Club, kids will learn lots of spelling rules, word origins, root words, definitions, vocabulary, and much more than the typical spelling book covers ~ plus your student will learn poise, patience and perseverance. If your child dislikes written spelling tests or finds spelling boring, this might be the best solution! Spelling Bee Club kids will do games and hold mini-bees.

ASVAB Testing

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is the most widely used multiple-aptitude test battery in the world. As an aptitude test, the ASVAB measures your strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. The ASVAB also provides you with career information for various civilian and military occupations and is an indicator for success in future endeavors whether you choose to go to college, vocational school, or a military career. Every fall, FSP tests 10^th-12^th grade students. The testing and resultant seminar to read the results and gain access to their website is provided for free as a benefit of FSP membership.
