High School Testing

College Board offers the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT): Taking the PSAT as a 10th grader is a good practice,  but it does not count for college entrance or scholarships. Taking the test in 11th grade can gain you scholarships!  The four-hour test is taken in October only.  FSP students can test with CLS students at CLC or at your local high school.  Information comes out in early September, and deadlines are firm.

College Board offers the Scholastic Aptitude Test (for College entrance).  Juniors and Seniors take the SAT.  Students register directly at the Official SAT site http://www.collegeboard.com/.  Dates vary each year, and deadlines are firm.  Students can chose from a variety of testing locations at local high schools.  Accommodations are available for students with documented disabilities, but you must apply early.  Students can also take the SAT II or Subject Tests.  Registration for these varies as well.  See the College Board website for full details.  Have your student register at College Board and take advantage of practice tests, Question of the Day, College searches and more.
